Mater Dei College Ashaka Old Boys Association (MOBA) proudly celebrates one of its distinguished members, Ikhide Ehighelua, SAN, on the occasion of his recent attainment of a remarkable milestone.. A proud member of the 1984 Set of Mater Dei College, Ashaka, and a committed member of the Warri Chapter of MOBA, Ikhide Ehighelua represents the enduring values of excellence, discipline, dedication and service that the college seeks to instil in its students.
Following his secondary education at Mater Dei College, Ashaka, Ikhide Ehighelua proceeded to the then Bendel State University, Ekpoma, now Ambrose Alli University, where he studied law and graduated in 1990. The college was founded on 30th September, 1962 at Ashaka in Aboh division of Midwestern state of Nigeria. The name of the college Mater Dei is a Latin word translated to English as "Mother of God."
The Motto DEO SEMPER PLACERE is translated to English to mean -whatever you are doing always please God. It is basically a Catholic institution with skeletal Pentecostal influence often accommodated.
The College Anthem LITTLE KING SO FAIR AND SWEET is still in vogue.
The pioneer principal of the school is Rev. Fr. Ojefua.

The College Old ! soys Association had some hi-cups in the beginning hence the actual date of its commencement cannot be ascertained. The succession of the Presidents (Leaders] of the Association could be traced from the reign of Chief Eric Anigala who galvanized and sensitized members on the need for the Association to form, grow and mature to fruition. It therefore behooves the students of history to chronicle the leadership of the Association from the era of Chief E. Anigala thus:
